The Scopes Trial ~ My Argument

Actually, even though I am quite religious, I actually favor the teachings of science. On the other hand, I truly believe that our schools should choose to teach both religion and science (evolution), because religion, in my opinion, actually gives us humans something to believe in other than simple facts. In my religion, we believe that there is a higher being in our lives with unimaginable strength and wisdom. Yes, some may disagree and it is somewhat difficult to wrap one's mind around the concept, but this belief gives us hope and the strength to push on in the most hardest times in life. Religion also helps us comprehend many of the uncomprehandable things that occur in this world, like "impossible" surgeries or getting out of accidents involving a truck alive. Though, science actually provides facts and logical proof of many of the natural things that occur around us, like the growth of a tree to the change in molecules. It helps us understand what happens in our daily problems, like sickness or how to get something working. It also helps understand how our planet came to be, from a simple speck of dust to a large rotating ball of prosperous life. Science is actually essential to one's understanding of reality , so without science, a single individual would lose track of reality. It all coincides with each other at some point, so I couldn't actually say that I do not favor religious teachings as well.

Acrostic Poem

P.R.O.H.I.B.I.T.I.O.N.

Pulled in religion, the Old Americans were,
Rectifying those against it.
Obeying the rules,
Hindering sinful fools,
In their lives, the flame of purity was lit.
Because they did not commit sin.
Indeed, they were strong in belief.
To resist to drink liquid brown, (container of some alchoholic beverages)
In comfort of their rural town,
Opposing the feeling of sinful grief.
Now, they dwell in religious purity.

R.O.A.R.I.N.G. T.W.E.N.T.I.E.S.

Roaring streets,
Obnoxious sounds,
Adolescence was the source of indifference.
Religion was of no concern.
Intuition to self-desire is at large.
Needing to accomplish sinful desires;
Good-natured was a rare find.

Though, it was at most a good time.
Women and men were granted much free will.
Existing as puppets of sexual desire.
Now, waiting to drink devil's water.
Too late, they have gone farther than that.
In desire of love, they have gone a great distance
Evermore, they were free in spirit.
Sexual desires have been accomplished.

Past Crime Groups

What I've learned from all the crime group presentations was that, in a way, they were all relatively similiar in how things were planned out. They always seemed to come in a disguise of some sort in order to sustain a minimal level of suspision when getting "business" done. I guess this actually helped boost their murder, abduction, and bank heists' chances of success. Also, each person would always have a significant amount of money on them. This shows me that they were wealthy, most likely due to smuggling in alchohol or booze and illegally selling it to other consumers. At that current time period, it was " prohibited," so i suppose they could increase the sale values of the alchohol if they so desired.
