The following concepts will be on the Topic.07 Formative Assessment. It is the student’s responsibility to prepare for this assessment. Information could come from in class activities, discussion and readings.


For your benefit the definition of concept has been provided below:

Role of Women during WWII



-In the economy itself, they basically took the men’s role of working instead of being a stay at home woman.


In the war, they actually played a role as nurses.



Cause and Effect of Use of the Atomic Bomb



-When the Pearl Harbor attack ended, the U.S. made its decision to use the Atomic Bomb, and as a result of the atomic bomb was the ending of WW2.



US Foreign Policy Before, During, and After the War




Effects of the War on Europe



-Overall damage and war wages but the economy of Europe into a depression.



Effect of Pearl Harbor Attack



-Pushes the U.S, to use its first atomic bomb.



Japanese Internment



-Japanese were slowly placed in camps in order to “isolate them” in a specific area.



Neutrality Acts



-U.S. begins to show its neutrality in the war by passing the Neutrality Acts, declaring that they will not participate in the war in anyway.



Purpose of Propaganda



-In order to persuade the U.S. into going to war. (Yellow journalism)



Rationing



-Food is rationed in order to provide more for soldiers in the war.



Results of World War II


-U.S. and allied forces formed the United Nations in 1945. Also, Germany obtains the desire to be as strong as the U.S. due to the use of the atomic bomb, pushing them into the manufacturing of nuclear weapons.
